In our Giving Day Toolkit, we outlined what it takes to put together a Giving Day with several months of planning. With three and a half weeks until #GivingTuesdayNow, we've trimmed down that planning into a to-do list that will help you get geared up for this new day of giving. 1 2 3 4 5 Be strategic in the approach you take. It's better to do one thing well than to do five things just "ok." Let your supporters know you're participating in #GTN, but don't bite off more than you can chew. Maybe three emails and three posts on social is what you can handle right now—and that's great. Be transparent. This new day of giving is all about engagement and support. Let your networks know why you're participating, what it is you need most, and what it is that you hope to accomplish with these donations. Create a goal. Your goal is probably smaller than your traditional #GivingTuesday goal, set it anyway! This is the best way to make sure everyone is on the same page—donors, staff, your board, etc. What do you need right now as an organization? How much will it take to make that happen? There's your goal, now share it and share your why. Focus on your core constituents. While new donors are fantastic, and a great way to grow your organization, there is a tight window of time to prepare for #GTN. By focusing on your current donors, their network, and your volunteers, you'll see better a better return from your time and resources. Go all in. We're living in a strange time and now, more than ever, human engagement and support is needed. Let your organization's light shine through you—drive engagement and donations with transparency and hope. You've got this!
