Please Take Me There
Please Take Me There was founded four years ago, initially as a year-long
project to provide children from Myanmar, in South-East Asia, with transport to
hospital so they could undergo treatment for cancer. This was a lifeline for many
families as the majority couldn't afford these travel costs. The project proved to
be such a success that it has now been extended throughout the world, and the
charity raises money for many different transport projects, as well as working
with partners to help those in need get to hospitals, schools or a safe place.
Please Take Me There officially became a charity in 2016 so is still relatively small.
It relies entirely on donations to provide services to those who require them.
Fernando Pinho, founder of Please Take Me There, shares with us the impact that
eTapestry has had so far and why he thinks it is the best software investment the
charity has made.
What challenges did you face that compelled
you to search for a fundraising solution?
"During the early stages, our campaigns were relatively easy to manage, however
as time went on and our campaigns got bigger and more complex, it became
difficult to manage things. Information was held on different spreadsheets, and
I was struggling to make sense of it all. The wake-up call came when I emailed
one of our donors to thank them, and I got a reply to say it was actually the fourth
time they had donated! I knew then we needed a dedicated fundraising solution to
properly manage things."
"eTapestry blew my mind! I had never seen anything like this
before, and as a charity with just three people it has been life-
changing for us and the work that we do!"
